Bass Lure Colours
A lure’s profile is the most important feature, but lure colour does make a difference. Sometimes
I know a few French commercial rod & like bass fishermen that fish everyday they can get out. They need to catch bass to pay their bills and to pay for their long winter holidays in Spain. They use live sandeels (or scad, mackerel, etc, etc) when they can, but if they can’t find or buy live sandeels they use a range of sandeel imitations in certain colours. Years of fishing for bass during daylight has proven to them that bass like some colours more than others. They change the colour depending on the water clarity and depth. When the big bass are feeding on mackerel they use mackerel coloured sinking plugs.
